I have a quick tip for you from one of my colleagues. We were chatting about strategies for teaching French verbs in the present tense. She mentioned that after introducing the proper way to conjugate French verbs in the present tense and going over the conjugation of all the different exceptions using my LA CONJUGAISON DES VERBES AU PRÉSENT WORKBOOK, she will first ask her students to go through the assigned worksheets and highlight any verbs that are an exception to the regular conjugation rules. She will have them conjugate those first, then work on the regular verbs. The results: when using this strategy, she noticed a significant difference in their abilities on quizzes and tests. I think it’s genius and thought I would pass it along!

What strategies do you use when teaching French verb conjugation in the present tense? I would love to hear from you. [email protected]
